Additional Italian Regulatory Reporting for banks and payment institutions
Overview of additional reporting requirements
Who these requirements apply to
These additional Italian regulatory reporting requirements apply to entities providing financial or payment services in Italy.
This includes banks, payment institutions, electronic money institutions, and payment service providers operating in or into the Italian market. Entities offering acquiring services, POS services, or other transaction-based payment activities may be subject to multiple reporting obligations depending on their business model.
All entities providing financial or payment services in Italy are required to submit the Relationship Report (Anagrafe dei Rapporti).
The CREDIPOS and SEGNAPOS reports generally apply to firms offering POS and/or acquiring services.
Reporting obligations depend on the nature of services provided. Not all entities will be required to submit every report. Applicability is determined by business model, services offered, and regulatory classification.
Reporting via the Sistema di Interscambio (SID)
The primary communication channel with the Italian Revenue Agency (Agenzia delle Entrate) is the Sistema di Interscambio (SID) data exchange system.
SID is the mandatory reporting platform through which Italian regulatory reports must be submitted. Each report follows specific technical formatting and submission requirements defined by the Italian authorities.
The reporting framework is as follows:
Anagrafe dei Rapporti is submitted via SID
CREDIPOS must be submitted via SID
SEGNAPOS will be required to be submitted via SID from January 2026
A single SID registration and transmission channel must be used for all applicable reports.
Aligned with existing CESOP reporting
Where Tax Desk already submits CESOP reporting on your behalf in Italy, the same SID account must also be used for the submission of these additional regulatory reports.
This ensures alignment across regulatory obligations, avoids duplicate registrations, and supports a consistent reporting framework through a single authorised transmission channel.
Our approach is designed to integrate seamlessly with your existing CESOP reporting processes.
End-to-end regulatory reporting support
As an increasing proportion of Italian regulatory reporting becomes mandatory through the SID data exchange system, Tax Desk has extended its service offering to support these additional obligations.
From January 2026, we provide:
SID registration and set-up
Technical report formatting
Report generation
Secure submission via SID
Our specialists manage the full reporting lifecycle, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with Italian regulatory requirements.
